PROJECT TYPE : Social.
SURFACE : 150 m2.
LOCATION : Kharayeb, South Lebanon.
PHASE : Executed.
DESCRIPTION : Lifehaus project : A low cost fully self-sufficient project designed to lower the carbon footprint using upcycled, local materials and ancestral techniques.
We focused on following an environmental approach of the project during its construction as well as its energy consumption during its occupation.
We adopted locally harvested natural materials (stone, earth), scavenged tires, and finally imported wood.
We designed the Hall following a passive bio-climatic approach to guarantee an all year comfortable temperature with no need of any artificial power-consuming source of heating or cooling.
The Hall is water self-sufficient too through rainwater harvesting used for toilets than treated it for irrigation.
It is power self-sufficient thanks to a small low-cost Photovoltaic Solar Panels installation.
